No Air Pressure Build-Up

POSSIBLE CAUSES
Plugged Air Filter
Broken Drive Belt (if equipped)
Air Leaks
Restricted Discharge Line
Restricted One-Way Valve or Valves
Governor
Unloader Plungers (valves)
Air Compressor
Step #1

Visually inspect belts, lines and connections. If broken, frayed, worn or loose, repair as necessary.
If belts, lines and connections are okay, go to Step #2.

Step #2

Disconnect Discharge Line at Supply Tank and Compressor. If plugged, clean or replace as necessary.
If not plugged, go to Step #3.

Step #3

Remove and inspect One-way Check Valves. If bad, replace the valve.
I good, go to Step #4.

Step #4

Remove Governor. Check for stuck piston.
Check for restricted exhaust.
Check for a restricted unloader line (if equipped).

If bad, repair or replace as necessary.
If good, go to Step #5.
Step #5

Inspect plunger movement:

Remove intake connection. (Filter or Elbow)
Start Engine. If air is pushed out of intake, remove and inspect Unloader Plungers.
Replace if necessary.
If air pressure starts to build, check for a restricted intake.
If there is no air movement, go to Step #6.

Step #6

Replace or rebuild Air Compressor.
