Installation Instructions for: Bendix Hydroboost & Hydromax Delco Hypower and Dual Power

This procedure does not include instructions for bleeding the brake system. The Hydroboost, Hydro-max, Hypower and Dual Power hydraulic section use power steering fluid. The brake system uses hydraulic brake fluid. Do not mix the two systems.

1. Fill power steering pump reservoir with power steering fluid.
2. Start engine and run for approximately two seconds. Check fluid level; add as required.
3. Repeat step 2 until fluid retains constant level.
4. Raise front of vehicle to clear tires. Run engine at 1000 to 15000 rpm. Depress brake pedal several times. Turn steering right and left, lightly contacting wheel stops.
5. Turn engine off; recheck reservoir fluid level. Add if needed.
6. Lower vehicle and repeat steps 4 and 5.
7. If pedal is up and firm, road test vehicle.
8. If reservoir fluid is extremely foamy, let vehicle stand with engine off for one hour, then recheck.
